Greencastle 'Home for the Holidays' Nov. 2 and 3
Heritage Christmas 2012 will open Friday and Satruday, Nov. 2 and 3 Greencastle-Antrim merchants welcome the public to their annual open house weekend.
On Saturday, Nov. 3 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. the second annual Heritage Marketplace will be held as a part of the weekend festivities. There will be music, highlighted by the Shippensburg Blaskapelle German Band performing in costume from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Vendors will have wooden toys; beeswax ornaments; yarn; kitty toys; scarves; wreaths decorated with miniature lollipops, natural bar soaps, German style glazed nuts; gourmet candied apples; clear toy lollipops, and goat cheese for sale. A blacksmith is also featured.
The Rotary Club of Greencastle will be selling ham and bean soup and traditional 1850 heritage smoked sausage. Hot apple cider, served in the commemorative 2012 Heritage Christmas mug, will be for sale.
Highline Restaurant and Railway Lounge will host a social from 4 to 6 p.m. with light food refreshments to wrap up the event.
