A yard and bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Greencastle Foursquare Gospel Church, 236 Tyrone St., Greencastle.
Proceeds will go to buy missions literature.

Spaghetti dinner
A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Greencastle Church of the Brethern, 36 South Carlisle St.
The cost is by donation.
All proceeds go to assist Dean Shenberger's medical bills.
Yard sale and chicken barbecue
GREENCASTLE — A yard sale and chicken barbecue will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, in the former Keystone Ford lot on South Antrim Way to help a Greencastle family raise the remaining funds they need to adopt a little girl from China.
Yard sale hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the sale will include very reasonably priced items. BBQ by Ralph’s chicken will be sold starting at 9 a.m.
All proceeds from the yard sale and chicken barbecue will benefit the Doug and Rhonda Shatzer family. The Shatzers plan to travel to China soon to bring home their adopted daughter, 1-year-old Rebecca. The Shatzers also adopted another daughter, Grace, now 9, from China in 2003.

Three-course tea luncheon
STATE LINE — Trinity United Church of Christ, U.S. 11 on the square, will hold a fall themed tea luncheon Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30. The luncheon includes choice of soup or salad, scones, assortment of tea sandwiches, an array of desserts along with a bottomless cup of hot tea, iced tea or lemonade.
There are two seating times on Saturday: noon and 1 p.m.; and on Sunday tea will be served at 1 p.m.
Advance ticket purchase is required. Cost is $15 for adults and $7.50 for children.
The menu will feature fall flavors and favorites. Door prizes will be awarded.
Proceeds will benefit church ministries.

Paws for the Cause
ROUZERVILLE — The Monterey Pass Chapter of Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) will hold its second annual Paws for the Cause from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Blondie’s, 11737 Old Route 16.
The event will feature a hog feed with pulled pork, sauerkraut, baked beans, and coleslaw as well as live acoustic blues and classic and southern rock.
Proceeds from the Paws for a Cause will benefit the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter and Antietam Humane Society.

ABATE is an alliance of bikers dedicated to the protection of the individual rights of motor-cyclists through political change, charitable works, and public education. Founded two years ago, the Monterey Pass chapter is one of 50 located in Pennsylvania. Its 64 members meet at Blondie’s on the second Thursday of each month.
Second Hand Rose Tea and Fashion Show
CHAMBERSBURG -- The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter will host Second Hand Rose Tea and Fashion Show from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 30, at the thrift store, 66 S. Main St.
Tickets are $15 and only 50 seats will be available. Proceeds will benefit the shelter's Rallying to Relocate Capital Campaign.
The fashion show will include clothing available for purchase at the thrift store and shelter dogs will model outfits as well.
The event will include raffles, door prizes and refreshments.

5K Chase
WILLIAMSPORT, Md. — As a kickoff to WCRH-The Compass’ annual Sharathon event, WCRH-90.5 FM will hold The Compass 5K Chase, a walk/run benefit event Saturday, Sept. 29 on the campus of Cedar Ridge Children’s Home and School, 12146 Cedar Ridge Road. There will also be a 1K for under at 9 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m.
Prizes and medals will be awarded.
Registration before Sept. 13 is $20 for the 5K and $10 for the 1K. After that the cost is $25 and $15 and on race day the charge is $30 and $20.
