Local Halloween events planned
Halloween events have been planned for the Greencastle-Antrim area.
The Greencastle Exchange Club will hold its annual Halloween Parade at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, and the Borough of Greencastle has set 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, as Trick or Treat night. Residents who wish to participate in Trick or Treating should turn on their porch lights.
Parade participation is open to any groups, local organizations, bands, floats and individuals.
Registration for the parade is free and will begin at 6 p.m. in the Jerome R. King Playground's southern-most pavilion.
There will be prizes for best costumes and floats.
The parade route will stay the same as previous years, ending with free hot chocolate and cookies in the playground’s northern-most pavilion. The parade will move from the south end of the playground, and follow South Carlisle Street to the square and turn east onto Baltimore Street. At Allison Street the procession will go north to Walter Avenue and then west to Carlisle Street before ending at the north end of the playground.
Prizes are being sponsored by Greencastle Exchange Club.
The judges’ platform will be donated by Tom Shockey Collision, Inc., Waynesboro.
