Fun Day is Aug. 1 at playground

Pony rides are a popular feature of the Fun Day at Jerome R. King Playground.

The annual Jerome R. King Playground Fun Day has been set for Saturday, Aug. 1. The event is open to Greencastle area youth ages preschool through middle school. It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature games, food and activities.

Fun Day will be held rain or shine near the Nelson Pavilion and bandshell area. Everything is free.

The entertainment schedule is: Clarissa’s School of Performing Arts 10 to 10:30 a.m., Uncle Bean Magic Show 11 to 11:45 a.m., and ballooning noon to 2 p.m. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets while they watch the shows.

The children activities include pony rides, moon bounce, slide, Thomas the Tank Engine rides, dunk tank, goldfish game, tattoos and many other games. Upon arrival, children registering will beceive a prize and ticket for food.

Watermelon is provided at noon by Greencastle VFW, ice cream by Greencastle Exchange Club and sandy candy by F&M Bank.
