Matrix to expand by World Kitchen south of Greencastle

Matrix is planning to expand its property south of Greencastle with two warehouses.

A civil engineer approached Antrim Township Muncipal Authority Feb. 29 about construction at Matrix I-81 Logistics Center on South Antrim Way. Ron Secary from Snyder, Secary & Associates explained the subdivision plan of Matrix, which owns the land World Kitchen is on. The company wants to put two spec warehouses on the lots to the rear. One would be 400,000 square feet, and the other 550,000 square feet.

Secary planned to pump into Antrim's sewer system, and get water from Greencastle Area Franklin County Water Authority.

"I understand you historically have an agreement with Greencastle, and it is expired," he said. "We hope that won't be an impediment."

Matrix wanted private utility systems on its property, which would then connect to the public lines for treatment.

ATMA chairman Rodney Eberly replied, "We have the authority to defer to Greencastle, and that is probably the way we will go."

He and board members Bob Coladonato, Chad Murray and Mike Smith were happy to learn the township would not have to maintain another lift station. Dale Hostetter was absent.
