Former Greencastle resident to share new book with community

Former Greencastle resident Cathy Beddow Keener is returning to town this week with her newly-published children’s book in hand.
Keener, who now lives with her husband Larry in Fort Worth, Texas, said the release of Jazzy Bunny Gets Floppy-ear-itis is the fulfillment of a longtime dream.
“Jazzy is a little bunny with a grateful attitude and a thankful spirit,” explained Keener. “When he suddenly faces an unknown illness unlike anything he has ever known, will he be able to cope with what comes next? Will he and his family be able to rely on God to get through the hard times?
”All of us, both young and old, can benefit from Jazzy's example of a positive attitude. Please come and hear the outcome of his story.”
The author will sign copies of the book from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Mikie’s Ice Cream and Green Cow Gift Shop on South Antrim Way, Greencastle.
The Keeners return to Greencastle each spring for Larry to perform in the Rescue Hose Company Hobo Minstrel Show.
“Everyone in the show knew I was having it published, so I thought it would be cool to come back for a signing,” said Cathy.
“I would love to see lots of my friends to share the book with them.”
Also a part of her longtime dream was to donate the proceeds from the book sales to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
”Anything to help those sweet little children,” Keener said of the fundraiser. She has already donated 25 of the books to the hospital.
