Greencastle robbery suspects captured with public's help

Citizens helped authorities nab two robbery suspects at the scene of the crime in Greencastle Tuesday morning.
Greencastle Police reported that shoppers in the area of Dollar General, 514 N. Antrim Way, called 911 to report a robbery in progress just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29. Officers moved in to take the suspects into custody as they exited the store.
One officer stopped Markian Butcher, 22, Greencastle, who fled as he was being detained. He was apprehended a short distance away. The other suspect, Joshua McCusker, 28, of Greencastle, entered the nearby Food Lion grocery store and was apprehended by another officer.
Police did not say whether any weapon was used in the robbery.
There were no injuries at the scene, according to police.
McCusker and Butcher were charged with criminal attempted burglary. Bail was set at $25,000 each and both were placed in the Franklin County Jail.
Pennsylvania State Police, Waynesboro Police and Mercersburg Police assisted Greencastle Police at the scene.
