The Greencastle Artisans in the Park festival being held Sept. 12 and 13 at the Jerome R. King Playground will showcase the talent of many local artists and musicians.

Unique art objects and handcrafted creations, many from repurposed materials, will be for sale during the two-day event. The festival hours are from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days.

There will be fun for everyone with shopping, food, and kids' activities planned including a visit from Shaggy Mountain petting zoo. Highline Restaurant and Railway Lounge will sponsor a craft beer tasting on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Sunday morning at 10 a.m. the Greencastle Presbyterian Church welcomes people and pets of all faith to a special blessing of the pets at the bandshell. Gifts will be given to each pet with free coffee and donuts for their owners before the service.

The musical line-up for the weekend includes Kerensa Gray, Mountain Ride, Wings that Buzz, Basswood, The Negley Brothers and Cassi Raye. Folks are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to relax at the bandshell and listen to the music. There is no cost for admission.

The festival will be spread throughout the southern section of the playground where the bandshell is located. Street parking is available with overflow at nearby Lumber Direct, 10 E. Walter Ave.
