Participating stores in Greencastle-Antrim are kicking off the holiday shopping season this weekend with open houses with participating merchants. The public is invited to shop.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Heritage Marketplace returns to the square, featuring Old World Music; custom-made Heritage Sausage; and ham and bean soup, provided by the Rotary Club of Greencastle. There will be bowls and quart sizes available on the southeast side of the square.

Proceeds from the sale of Heritage Sausage go toward Heritage Christmas and the proceeds from the soup go toward community projects sponsored by the Rotary Club.

The open house weekend is called “Home for the Holidays” because it reminds us of being home, the quaintness of small shops, seeing acquaintances and friends in the stores and on the sidewalks, being reminded of our heritage during the marketplace activities and dining and getting into the holiday spirit by shopping locally.
