A bicycle will sit under the tree for one more child this Christmas. Greencastle Bicycle Exchange is offering a bike “giftaway” this year, as a way to give back to the community. The business, owned by Sean Guy and Dan Grooms, opened in June.

“Many kids dream of a bike but don’t really expect to get one,” said Guy. “If it’s a surprise, that may be the one Christmas they remember forever.”

He and Grooms will provide a Haro bicycle, tailored to the winner, in time for the parents or guardian to decide how to present it. The recipient will also receive a helmet.

People may submit names by Dec. 13 and the adults will be notified by Dec. 16. The entry should include the child’s name, age (through 14 years),  phone number of parent or guardian, and an explanation of why the child should be considered.

They may be turned in via email to gtownbicycleexchange@gmail.com, through Facebook private messaging, or in a letter mailed or dropped off at Greencastle Bicycle Exchange, 9 E. Baltimore St., Greencastle PA 17225.
