Officials at Letterkenny Army Depot (LEAD) began notifying employees Monday afternoon that they will be exempt from the potential government shutdown on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

According to a news release issued just before 3 p.m., employees are “exempt” from furlough if they are not affected by a lapse in appropriations; this includes employees who are not funded by annually appropriated funds (i.e. Foreign Military Sales, Army Working Capital Funds, multi-year appropriations).

The release said, LEAD tenant organization chains of commands will confirm their employee status regarding government shutdown.
