The Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce will host its annual banquet Thursday, Sept. 22 at Green Grove Gardens, 1032 Buchanan Trail E.

A reception sponsored by Manitowoc will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and program to follow. The event sponsor is F & M Trust.

The cost of a ticket is $37. Reservations and inquiries from the general public can be made by contacting the chamber office at 597-4610 or info@greencastlepachamber.org by Sept. 16.

The banquet will include the presentation of the James P. Oliver Award.

Joel Fridgen, chamber executive director, said, “James P. Oliver was president of Eagle Construction until 1992, and also very involved in giving to the community. He served on the Greencastle Borough Council for nearly 20 years and was active on the Board of Directors in a number of organizations. He gave of his talent, time, and resources to assist many organizations.”

The first James P. Oliver Award was presented posthumously to James P. Oliver in 1992.

“I can think of no finer tribute anyone could receive than to be recognized as a recipient of this award and we are pleased to add another person to this distinguished list with the announcement and award ceremony at our banquet,” added Fridgen.

A new feature of the banquet is a silent auction.
