Summit Health was ranked among the top 20 percent of best performing health systems by business consulting organization Thomson Reuters.

The study evaluated 285 health systems around the country.

According to the report, the health systems in the top 20 percent saved more lives, made fewer medical errors, followed recommended standards of care more closely, released patients half a day sooner on average, and scored better on patient satisfaction surveys than their peers.

“We take pride in providing high quality care and service to our community,” said Thomas Anderson, MD, Vice President for Medical Affairs, Summit Health.

“Our hospitals in Chambersburg and Waynesboro provide advanced care for our friends and neighbors, and they deserve the best,” Anderson said.
