HERSHEY – Greencastle-Antrim runners were well represented at Saturday's PIAA cross country championships held in Hershey.

And, while G-A had four competitors in their respective fields, the Blue Devils also earned a pair of top-three finishes.

Senior standout Taryn Parks placed second in the girls' AA race, taking home a fourth state cross country medal. Emerging sophomore star Weber Long finished third in the boys' AA race, giving Greencastle two tremendous showings against the best in Pennsylvania.

Additionally, G-A's Bella Weaver crossed 31st overall in the girls' event as a sophomore with senior Danny Miller capping his cross country career with a 99th-place finish in the boys' race.

Parks, who had previously placed first, second and third in the PIAA meet, added another stellar performance to her cross country resume, finishing in 18:07 for a second silver medal. Parks is also a three-time defending state champion in the mile run during track and field season, compiling a ridiculous amount of prestigious PIAA hardware.

Fellow senior and accomplished rival Marlee Starliper of Northern York won Saturday's race, posting a course-record time of 17:11 in the girls' AA event.

Long ran a blistering pace, finishing in 16:15 to earn a bronze medal. The Greencastle sophomore crossed behind AA champion Dylan Throop of General McLane (15:57) and Ben Kuhn of Wyomissing (16:08).

Weaver ran a time of 20:16, putting together a strong race in her second state appearance.
