President Trump's disrespect is astounding.
He refused to allow the members of the COVID-19 Task Force to appear for the Congressional House because they are “Trump haters.”
No, they are elected representatives of the American people. He has no respect for the process of democracy or the American people that the process serves.
He disrespects us when he gets caught in a lie and refuses to explain himself, which is daily. He doesn't even lie to our faces. He tweets it.
Reporters are disrespected and humiliated by President Trump for asking legitimate questions. He regularly disrespects the freedom of the press and the importance of the American citizens' right to information. He does not understand or respect people doing their jobs. He could answer the questions respectfully, explaining his point of view, but he chooses to bully and disrespect.
He disrespects his own base, stirring up issues that are divisive and dangerous for our country instead of legitimate issues his base cares about.
He refuses oversight on spending for the funds given to him by the American public.
He lost the respect of other countries and world leaders. He does not respect experts or people who have devoted their lives to public service.
The bare minimum we should expect from our president is respect for the hardworking intelligent people who keep this country going. If he can't show empathy, he should at least show respect.
President Trump doesn't even meet the bare minimum. Elections matter. Vote.
