David G. Alleman, age 79, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 8, 1944, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Margaret Grove Alleman.
Mr. Alleman was a 1962 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. He went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army from 1964 until 1970. Mr. Alleman worked as an electrician for 44 years at the former Grove Worldwide and retiring from Manitowoc Cranes in 2017. He was a life member of the Greencastle Sportsman’s Association, the Rescue Hose Co. 1, and The American Legion Post 373 all in Greencastle, PA. Mr. Alleman enjoyed taking bus trips up and down the east coast.
Surviving are three children, Judene M. Dunagan (husband Dewayne) of Whitwell, TN; Davin Alleman of Carlisle, PA; and Devin Alleman of Greencastle, PA, five grandchildren, Tony and Kylie Dunagan and Ethan, Ashton, and Hannah Alleman; six siblings, John Alleman (Sandy), Julie Leister (Paul), Sue Powell, Jay Alleman (Kelly), Jeff Alleman (Megan), and Linda May (Lance); and a brother-in-law, Woodrow Moser, Jr (Nancy). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Saundra Moser Alleman in 2009, a granddaughter, Nicole Marie Dunagan, and brother-in-law, Bruce Powell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc. 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor Ken Aker will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 6 -8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the above funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Habitat for Humanity, 1502 East Lincoln Way, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
