Mr. Steven L. McCleaf, 66, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born January 12, 1957 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Frank B. McCleaf, Jr. and Virginia L. (Kline) McCleaf. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.

Steve graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1974.

He and his wife, Jeanne M. (Kocher) McCleaf, were married on December 31, 2019, in Hagerstown, MD.

Steve learned his trade at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro and worked for the company for over 20 years. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in 2016.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Rouzerville, PA, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Eagles Club, Inc., The Owl’s Club all of Waynesboro and the Waynesboro Fish and Game, where he was a former board member.

Steve loved muscle cars, attending auctions and car shows and Pittsburgh Steelers football. He was an avid hunter, a proud owner of his 69 Camaro and enjoyed drag racing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Lanny R. McCleaf (Jackie) of Waynesboro; his sister-in-law, Carolyn A. McCleaf; his brother-in-law, Jim Earley; his niece, who was like a daughter to him, Ericca Yoder (Jamey) of Waynesboro; and numerous additional, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas G. McCleaf and one sister, Barbara Ann Earley.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Liberty Baptist Church, 11195 Airport Road, Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Rodney Burdette officiating. Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, PA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
