Mr. Earl R. “Harry” Shockey, 80, of Greencastle, PA passed away Saturday morning, March 11, 2023, in his home.

Born November 5, 1942 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Earl E. Shockey and Anna Mary (Crider) Smith.

Mr. Shockey served honorably with the United States Marines Corps for 4 years.

He and his wife, the late Mary L. “Ginger” (Bakner) Shockey, were married on April 23, 2005 in Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro. Mrs. Shockey died on October 29, 2018.

Mr. Shockey was employed at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, as an electrician. He retired in 2005 after more than 40 years of service.

He was a member of The Owl’s Club and Post Member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, both of Waynesboro.

Mr. Shockey enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Kahl and his son-in-law, Paul Kahl, II; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Shockey of Waynesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Day and one brother, Lloyd Shockey.

A graveside service will held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 17, 2023 in Mount Zion Cemetery, with Pastor Greg Helman officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Marine Corps League of Washington County, MD.

There will be no public viewing.
