It is with great sadness that the family of, Carolyn Diane Horst, announces her passing on March 5, 2023, in her home under the care of Hospice.

Carolyn was born May 20, 1945, in Parksville, MD to Norman K Lindner and Helen Louise (Gover) Lindner. Her grandparents were Joseph J, Hattie Mae (Kramer) Lindner Howard and Katherine (Stribling) Gover. Brothers: Robert A. Lindner and Norman K. Lindner Jr. Carolyn and William E. Horst Jr. were married September 7, 1968, in Towson, MD.

Carolyn graduated in 1963 from Parkville Senior High School. She graduated in 1968 from the University of Baltimore.

Carolyn was employed by GM&W Coal Company and AG Krumpton Electric Company before she struck out on her own. Carolyn had her own private accounting practice in Greencastle, PA for 47 years.

Carolyn was a long-standing member of the First Christian Church of Hagerstown, MD. She was the past president of Greencastle Rotary. She was a Paul Harris Fellow and co-founding member of the Greencastle Exchange club. She was the past President of Habitat of Humanity of Franklin County. She was also a Member of the Antietam Chapter of the DAR. Past Bethel Guardian of Bethel #26.

Carolyn was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, especially growing mums.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, William E. Horst Jr. Her children Michelle L. Tuttle (Horst), Cynthia E. Marconi (Horst), and Julie A. Wampler (Horst).

Her husband and children were the loves of her life.

The memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church of Hagerstown, MD April 15, 2023, at 11:00 am.

Her ashes will be buried at Benevola United Methodist Church.
