Richard L. Boschert, 88, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Friday, March 10, 2023, at Doey's House. Born Saturday, September 8, 1934 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late John A. Boschert and the late Susan B. (Smith) Boschert. Richard was an accomplished motorcyclist and was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association. He loved riding with his sons and grandchildren. He loved Bluegrass music and was proud to hold "Friday Night Jams" at the Beck and Benedict Hardware Store. He was a member of a Bluegrass Association and numerous hardware associations/affiliations. Richard was also a past member of the Boy Scouts Troop 1 at St. Mary's. He cherished his family and was strong in his faith. He was proud to serve as lector with St. Mary's Catholic Church for forty plus years. His greatest love was the family he had with his wife, Della. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Della Marie Boschert; sons, Bill Boschert, Mark and Donna Boschert, and Tom Boschert; sister, Evelyn and Thomas Quinn; brother-in-law, Paul Peloquin; grandchildren, Will, Chris, Brandon, Kate, Courtney, Bethany, Hope, and Hannah; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Boschert; and sister, Virginia Peloquin. Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Catholic service will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 10:00 am, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North Hagerstown, MD, with the Rev. Ernest Cibelli officiating. A Celebration of Life with an open Bluegrass Jam will be held following the service at the Maugansville Ruritan Club from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
