Mr. Harold James Rosenberger, 90, of Tomstown Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 in his home.
Born August 6, 1932 in Tomstown, he was the son of the late Jacob E. and Bertha A. (Mentzer) Rosenberger.
Mr. Rosenberger was a graduate of Quincy High School with the Class of 1950.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in the Central Pacific at the Atomic testing grounds, Eniwetok, Marshall Island.
He and his wife, the late Mrs. Dorothy E. (Riley) Rosenberger, were married February 12, 1955 in Fallston, MD. They were married for 60 years when she passed away July 1, 2016.
Mr. Rosenberger was employed by Millers Furniture Store, Waynesboro for 20 years and later at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. He retired in March 1993 after 20 years of service.
He was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, where he served as an usher, was a member of the Mixed Couples Sunday School class and served several terms on the Administrative Board. He also was a member of Letterkenny Rod and Gun Club, Waynesboro Fish and Game Association, National AARP and was a charter member of the Franklin County Beekeepers Association.
Mr. Rosenberger also managed several area baseball teams throughout the years including Quincy Little League, Five Forks Pony League, Hess Manufacturing Co. Colt League and Waynesboro Villagers Adult team.
He is survived by four children, Mary Lathrop of Douglasville, GA, James Rosenberger of Waynesboro, Thomas Rosenberger of Hollidaysburg, PA and John Rosenberger of Emporium, PA; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Rosenberger of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Rosenberger was preceded in death by three sisters, Donna Starliper, Miriam Gourley and infant Betty Rosenberger; and one brother, Robert Rosenberger.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 10, 2023 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. David Rawley officiating. Burial will follow in Antietam Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday morning, in the funeral home.
