Larry Lee Mowen

Larry Lee Mowen, a man of few words, passed away on July 30, 2022. Larry, the youngest of seven, was proudly born in Greencastle, PA, on September 25,1938, to Anna (Helfrick) and Preston Mowen. Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria; his two daughters, Christy, and Candice; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers – Frank (wife Louise) and Ray (wife Barb); and numerous nieces and nephews. After graduation, Larry enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ. While stationed there, he met the love of his life, Gloria, and decided to make Phoenix his home for over 60 years. He loved his family, reading the hometown paper (Echo-Pilot) and could fix about anything. Larry was a lifetime member of the Rescue Hose Company Number 1, Greencastle, PA. A gathering was held on August 13th from 3-5pm at Hansen’s Mortuary in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the American Lung Association to help fight COPD.
