Mr. Richard C.” Richie” Rotz, 75, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born December 29, 1946, in Marion, PA, he was the son of the late Merle C. and Olive E. (Gift) Rotz.
He graduated from Greencastle High School with the class of 1964.
He served with the Army Reserves in Vietnam.
Richard worked at Hines, Chambersburg, PA. He then went to work for Staples Distribution Center, Hagerstown, MD, and worked as a part time custodian for the Waynesboro School District.
He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro. Growing up he attended Hollowell BIC Church, Waynesboro.
Richard was a car enthusiast, and was proud of his Classic ‘75 Grand Prix. One could usually find Richard working outside. He really had a knack with landscaping, his love of nature was obvious. He was compassionate for people as well as animals. He was always sure to feed the birds and squirrels and greatly enjoyed the companionship of a dog or two! He was very personable, making friends with all he would meet, and he had a great sense of humor, which will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his siblings: Ruth J. Bishop, Robert M. Rotz, and his wife, Linda, and Ruby L. Johnson, all from Greencastle, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA, with Pastor Dwan N. Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Mill Cemetery, Antrim Township.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
