Orville Eugene "Gene" Shockey

Orville Eugene "Gene" Shockey was born on May 26, 1950 and went to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital after a brief illness.

Gene is the son of Orville Shockey and the late Goldie J. Peck Shockey.

Gene was involved with many softball teams throughout his life. This past Summer he was the pitcher for the Washington County Senior Softball League where he was recognized as the "MVP" (Pitcher of the Season) after winning the Grand Championship.

Gene was an active member of Ebenezer Church in Greencastle, PA. He was a hardworking man who made many sacrifices to care for his family. He was recently employed by XPO Logistics.

Gene was an "AVID" sports fan, his favorite teams were the New York Yankees, Miami Dolphins and all of Nascar.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Carolyn Shockey, 7 Children 13 Grand-Children and 11 Great-Grandchildren and a large number of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11 am at Ebenezer Church located at 3661 Williamson Road, Greencastle, PA 17225.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ebenezer Church.
