Antrim Township supervisors awarded $40,000 in park grants at Tuesday's meeting.

The board followed the recommendations of the park committee, which went through each application line by line, according to Rodney Eberly, park director.

Requests for funding totaled $111,467.12 in the annual program for non-profit parks and recreational organizations open to the general public in the Greencastle-Antrim community.

In addition to the $40,000, the township gives $5,000 each to the Kauffman Ruritan Club, Shady Grove Improvement Association and the State Line Ruritan Club. Those three organizations also received additional money in the grant allocations.

The grants:

Kauffman Ruritan: $1,300, mix of trees, recycling trash can receptacle

Shady Grove Improvement Association: $12,064.56, playground equipment

Jerome R. King Playground Association: $6,050, antique merry-go-round, grandstand repairs, walkway blacktop repairs, replace net on roll-away cage, water fountain

State Line Little League: $1,030, replace roofs on two dugouts

State Line Ruritan Club: $1,000, replace/repair playground equipment, replace sand box

G-A Fastpitch (GALS): $565, bleachers, batting cage netting

Greencastle Junior Wrestling: $2,256, warm-up mat, stationary bike, pull-up dip bar Bulgarian bag rack, Elite Speed training kit, balance board, rocker balance board, yoga balance trainer set, medicine ball, Bluedot ladder/training sled, weighted running vests, $2,256

Tayamentasachta: $4,850, outdoor drinking fountain with pet fountain, masonry step platform

Greencastle Area Youth Foundation: $10,884.45, train station canopy repairs and renovations
