A new play area will be installed between the tennis and basketball courts at Antrim Township Community Park this spring.
Township supervisors recently approved the $62,895 purchase.
"The (park) committee really thought the style would fit well there," Rodney Eberly, park director, told the supervisors.
The pieces of equipment have a forest look, including a log tunnel for children to crawl through, a log balance beam and a log bench. There are mushrooms steppers, two bucket swings and one double and one single bubble rider. The central play structure with a slide, steps and two rock walls continues the theme.
The 44- by 60-foot area includes a handicapped accessible ramp and will be covered with engineered wood fiber.
"We hope to install it before the birds start chirping and the leaves start popping," said Eberly, who wants to have the area completed by May 1.
