Robert A. Smith Beaver Robert A. Smith, 93, of Beaver, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Born August 18, 1926, in Titusville, Pa., he was a son of the late Arthur H. and Irene C. Smith. He was a long-time resident of Beaver, having lived in the community since 1936. Robert was a graduate of Geneva College and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Bob had a lengthy and successful career that included Marketing Director for U.S. Steel and Vice President of Corporate Communications at Baker Corporation. He was very involved in the local community, volunteering with and leading organizations such as the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation, the Beaver Streetscape Committee and the Beaver Area School District Education Foundation. Most recently, Bob was a key member of the planning committee for the new cultural and event center at the P&LE railroad passenger station. Bob loved his hometown and gave of his time and talents in more ways than could be listed here. He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Devins, Buford, Ga. and Abigail Brown (Jordon), Rochester, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Morgan Longabaugh (Ben), Rachel Brown and Kyle Devins (Jessica) and his significant other, Emy McIsaac, Beaver. Friends will be received Sunday, December 8, 2019, from 12 to 3 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will be conducted by his friend, Reverend Carl Neely, on Monday, December 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Beaver. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery.
