The Greencastle-Antrim boys’ basketball team still hasn’t missed a beat. The girls’ hoops squad continues to fuel its way to the postseason. And the wrestling team is still plugging away.
Undefeated Greencastle-Antrim will be involved in the fifth annual Dunks for Drew varsity boys’ basketball showcase that will be held Saturday, Feb. 4 at Chambersburg Area Senior High School featuring a quadruple-header that raises money for the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation of Shippensburg.
Noone has yet been able to bring down the boys’ basketball team while the girls’ team has been playing their own upset games and the wrestling team continues a numbers battle as the Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devil athletic season progresses.

Jesse Herman, a Greencastle-Antrim High School Class of 2010 graduate, was part of the Cinderella season of the Geneva College men’s soccer team. The Blue Devil varsity boys’ team staged an incredible comeback to stake a claim at the top in the Franklin County Tip-Off Tournament. G-A overcame a 14-point deficit at the half to conquer Chambersburg 68-65 in the championship game. That came after a 70-38 lopsided win over James Buchanan on the opening night of the event.
Meanwhile the G-A girls’ team also delivered a solid punch over the rival Rockets with a 60-34 victory in the opening round. That drew a championship game date with Chambersburg. The Blue Devils forced overtime, but fell short of the Lady Trojans, 46-41.
FLORENCE, N.C. — The Florence RedWolves, a summer-league squad in the Coastal Plain League, have announced the hiring of Jared Barkdoll from Francis Marion to be the head coach for the 2012 season.
