Jaye N. Walck, 79, of Greencastle, died at 4:54 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 in the Quincy Retirement Home, Quincy.
Born Oct. 15, 1930 in Marion, he was the son of the late Robert and Bertha (Cordell) Walck.
He retired after over 40 years of employment as a painter with the former J.J. Smith & Sons Painting in Greencastle.
Mr. Walck was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War.
He was a member of the Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post 6319, the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post 373, both of Greencastle, and the Chambersburg Moose Lodge 842.
He is survived by one daughter, Audrey (wife Of Dan) Lucchitti of Bethel Park; two brothers, Richard Walck and Franklin "Bud" Walck, both of Greencastle; one sister, Emma Swope of Greencastle; and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Walck, Glenn Walck and Ronald Walck; and three sisters, Gladys Forney, Ruth Dawson and Miriam Overcash.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, with Rev. Chris Renner officiating.
Burial with military honors provided by the Chambersburg VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, 2700 Luther Dr., Chambersburg, PA 17202.
