Beryl I. (Burns) Kirk, 87, a resident of C.J.'s Senior Care and formerly of Donald Street, both of Hagerstown, Md., died at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the nursing home.
Born July 5, 1922 in Buckingham-Shire, England, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Lee) Burns.
She and her husband, Richard Eugene Kirk, were married May 3, 1945 in Suffolk, England. They moved to the United States in 1946. He died Jan. 16, 2002.
Mrs. Kirk is survived by six children, Terry Kirk and his wife, Linda, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Marelin Sites and her husband, Silvan "Herk," of Greencastle, Donna Shirkey and her husband, Donald, of Hagerstown, Mary Ellen Smith and her husband, Frank, of Cumberland, Md., Richard Kirk Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Greencastle and Rita Timmons of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one-great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Kirk; a grandson, Todd Sites; three sisters; and five brothers.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements were handled by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
