David H. Frey, 74, formerly of Greencastle, and a resident of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, for the past seven years, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 in the nursing center.
Born Aug. 2, 1935 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late David Walter and Mabel Alice (Henry) Frey.
Mr. Frey was a graduate of Chambersburg High School and the Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis, Minn.
He and his wife, Helen B. (Mills) Frey, were married May 18, 1958 in Waterfall.
Mr. Frey was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He retired from Mack Truck, having worked as a Traffic Supervisor in Hagerstown, Md. and last in Allentown.
Mr. Frey attended the King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg, and had been a member of the Grace United Church Of Christ of Greencastle.
He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge No. 443 F.&A.M. of Greencastle, a 33rd degree mason belonging to the Scottish Rite Valley Of Harrisburg and was a former member of the Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg.
Mr. Frey was also a member of the Traffic Club of Hagerstown & Allentown, Waynesboro Elks and a member of the Harry D. Zeigler V.F.W Post 6319 of Greencastle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Brent D. (husband of JoLinda) Frey, of Lewisberry; a daughter, Renee Shuey of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mary Mackey of Chambersburg; a brother, James Frey of Chambersburg; and one granddaughter, Chelsey Frey.
Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge will hold a Masonic service at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. Following this service, a memorial service will be held with Rev. Lester Stine officiating.
Burial will be in the Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Masonic Village, Washington 2 Unit, One Masonic Dr. Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
