OBITUARY: Marvin L. Brindle

Marvin L. Brindle, age 82, of Greencastle, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at 9:03 a.m. in his home.
Born Nov. 20, 1929 in Greencastle, he was the son of the late Theodore Russell and Irene (Miller) Brindle.
He and his wife, Mary Grace (Clark) Brindle, were married July 2, 1950 in Hagerstown, Md.
Mr. Brindle was a member of the Macedonia United Brethren Church of Greencastle, where he served as church trustee, board member, Sunday school teacher and song leader.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a 1948 graduate of the Greencastle High School.
Mr. Brindle worked in the foundry department of Landis Tool Company in Waynesboro for 43 1/2 years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are, two daughters, Kathy J. (wife of Barry) Hartle, Penny (wife of William) Carbaugh, all of Greencastle; one son, Richard J. (husband of Beverly) Brindle of Greencastle; one brother, Robert T. Brindle of Greencastle; and two sisters, Mable Shindle and Joretta McKibben, both of Greencastle; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eugene Brindle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 from the Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Road, Greencastle, with Rev. Gayle Ruble Sr. officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Macedonia United Brethren Church, 11887 Worleytown Rd., Greencastle, PA 17225.
