Three buildings went down quickly Friday as contactor Bill Hudson demolished them prior to beginning a building project on South Antrim Way at West Franklin Street. Greencastle borough council approved the subdivision plan for the southeast corner of the intersection at its Dec. 5 meeting. Two lots were combined into one.
The owner of Hudson Construction Company, Hudson will erect a 5,000 square foot commercial building for property owners Steven and Amelia Kasinof. They have leased the new facility to Allegany Optical LLC, owned by Dr. Patrick Fleming, Dr. James Whitelock, and other doctors and investors. It will be used for administrative offices for the retail chain.
Hudson knocked down buildings that most recently housed Antrim Way Shippers and formerly Bock Oil, Bock’s Books and Greencastle Borough Tax Collector. That office relocated to 39 Chambers Lane, Suite 100.
Site development will accommodate parking for 26 vehicles. The project is slated to be completed by October.
