GREENCASTLE – A man accused of committing armed robbery at M&T Bank in Greencastle on Friday was arrested in Hagerstown, Maryland less than one hour later.

According to Greencastle Police, George Arthur Graves, 50, of Hagerstown, was located on Salem Avenue in Hagerstown around 5:20 p.m. and charged as a fugitive from justice in Maryland while facing charges of armed robbery and weapons violations in Pennsylvania pending extradition.

Greencastle Police responded to a reported robbery at M&T Bank, 643 E. Baltimore St., at 4:54 p.m. Friday when an armed subject entered the bank and demanded money at gun point, a release from police said.

The investigation led to the subject being located in Hagerstown and identified as Graves.

Greencastle Police were assisted by Hagerstown City Police, Washington County Sheriff's Department, Chambersburg Police K-9 and alert citizens in the area.
