Greencastle Borough Council will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, concerning its leadership.

A news release about the meeting says it is being held to "consider the organization of council and any other business that may come before council."

Frank Webster Jr. sent a notice resigning as council president on July 18, but rescinded his resignation Monday.

His initial decision was based on several factors, including a serious health concern. Webster got a second opinion and does not need major surgery.

In addition, he said his mission leaders at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints allowed him to cut back from 40 to 60 hours a week to 20 hours.

"They knew how much I loved serving the citizens of Greencastle and they also encourage church members to serve in public capacities such as this to show we are in fact a Christ-loving Christian church," Webster wrote in an email. He is involved in the church's genealogy work.

The meeting will be held in borough hall, 60 N. Washington St.

The regular council meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. will take place as scheduled. The administration and finance committee meeting will also take place as scheduled at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3.

All three meetings are open to the public.
