Taste of the Holidays, a seasonal culinary event sponsored by Orrstown Bank, will be held Thursday, Nov. 9, at Blue Heron Events, 407 S. Washington St, Greencastle. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s demonstration will be simulcast to ensure that every guest will enjoy an up-close-and-personal experience.
From Scratch Catering owner Denise Hutchison will demonstrate how to make holiday appetizers including imperial crab bites and fingerling stuffed potatoes, as well as seasonal entrees such as beef bourguignon with toast points, followed by pastry cream and fruit tarts. Each ticket holder will have the opportunity to taste each product created and will leave with the recipes.
Local producers Janzell Wines and Biser Farms will be offering wine and cheese samplings and Greencastle Coffee Roasters will offer a prepared proprietary blend of Heritage Christmas coffee.
Additional presentations include Chris Johnston from the shop demonstrating creative tablescapes, as well as U.V.Stems-The Flower Shop demonstrating how to create a floral centerpiece. In addition, other presenters will be on hand to demonstrate how to prepare a holiday pantry and how to set a festive table.
Seating is limited to 200 guests. Tickets are available only in advance for $20 at the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, 217 E. Baltimore St., or Orrstown Bank, 308 Carolle St., both in Greencastle, or online at EventBrite.com. For more information call the chamber at 717-597-4610.
