Accused of stealing while working at Widget Financial

An Erie woman accused of stealing from a credit union where she once worked waived a felony receiving stolen property charge to court on Wednesday.

Kristen N. Marini, 24, waived her preliminary hearing on the charge before Erie 5th Ward District Judge Paul Bizzarro on Wednesday afternoon. Prosecutors withdrew a felony count of theft by deception at the hearing.

Marini remains free on unsecured bond.

Erie police filed the charges against Marini in late March, accusing her of taking a total of $11,349.71 in cash withdrawals from the accounts of two depositors while she worked at Widget Financial, 1683 E. 38th St., between Nov. 15 and Nov. 18, according to information in the criminal complaint.
