Bertha E. Winsor Bertha E. (Landis) Winsor, 93, of 35 Williamson Ave., Greencastle, died at 11:14 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 in the Waynesboro Hospital. Born Nov. 30, 1914 in Antrim Township, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Edgar and Emma Grace (Kriner) Landis. She was the wife of the late James F. Winsor. He died April 24, 1962. Mrs. Winsor was a homemaker. She was a member of the Shanks Church Of The Brethren, Greencastle. Mrs. Winsor enjoyed sewing, especially making dolls, flowers and gardening. She is survived by two daughters, Martha L. (wife of John E. Sr.) Farrow of Greencastle and Betty G. (wife of Martin H.) Timmons of Mercersburg; two sons, Richard E. (husband of Madeline (Weaver) Winsor of Presque Isle, Maine, and Dennis R.Winsor of Greencastle; three sisters, Mabel Izer of Greencastle, Mary Rice of Chambersburg and Carrie Martin of Maugansville, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 23 greatgreat grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James W. Winsor; daughter in-law, Doris (Smith) Winsor; daughter, Donna F. Winsor; granddaughter, Diane E. Winsor- Witmer; infant brother, Elmer Landis; brothers, Martin Landis, Roy Landis and William Landis; sisters, Elva Landis, Ruth Martin and Dortha Long. Services were held the morning of Thursday, June 26 at Shank's Church Of The Brethren, Greencastle, with Pastor David Stahl officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to her great-grandson's family, The Shank Family, serving as missionaries in Liberia, West Africa, c/o Mount Rock Brethren In Christ Church, 22 Mount Rock Rd., Shippensburg, PA. 17257 or to the charity of one's choice.
