Bible study

A Bible study recovery group for women who have experienced a pregnancy loss through abortion will be offered beginning in September by Pure Grace 101, a ministry outreach of Pregnancy Ministries, Inc. The 11-week study is free and strictly confidential, but pre-registration is required and is now open.

Mega Sports Camp

CHAMBERSBURG - Christian Life Church will hold a Mega Sports Camp for basketball, cheerleading or soccer from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 21 to 25 at 1400 Warm Spring Road, for children completing first through sixth-grade.

Cost is $5 which includes a T-shirt (if pre-registered) and a snack.Soccer participants must bring and wear shin guards. There will be giveaways each night.

CHAMBERSBURG - The Couriers will perform at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, July 6 at New Franklin Assembly of God, 2355 New Franklin Road.

A love offering will be taken.

Vacation Bible School

WAYNESBORO - Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, invites all area children ages 2 through sixth-grade to join us for SonWorld Adventure Park Vacation Bible School (VBS). At SonWorld Adventure Park, kids will experience the fun and excitement of an amusement park while singing, watching skits, creating crafts and playing games. But most important, they'll discover more about making good choices each day and about who Jesus is.

Five Forks is offering SonWorld Adventure Park VBS free of charge for two different weeks in hopes that everyone will be able to find a week that suits their schedule. The format is Sunday through Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. each night. You can choose from Sunday, July 13 through Thursday, July 17 or Sunday, July 20 through Thursday, July 24.

Five Forks will also be offering an adult class on parenting during each week of VBS for anyone interested in attending.

Concert

MAUGANSVILLE, Md. - The Wingert Family will be in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 6 at the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, 17904 Binkley Ave.

A free-will offering will be received. All are welcome.

Women of Faith Conference

WASHINGTON D.C. - Maugansville Bible Brethren Church has tickets available for the 2008 "Infinite Grace" Women of Faith Conference July 11 and 12 in Washington D.C.

Community Block Party

CHAMBERSBURG - Christian Life Church will hold a Community Block Party from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 at the outdoor activity grounds of the church, 1400 Warm Spring Road, with live music, drama, paintball, basketball, volleyball and horseshoes and for children, inflatables, facepainting and The Balloon Man.

Hotdogs and beverages will be provided. Families are encouraged to bring additional food for your family as well as lawn chairs, blankets, lawn games.

Outdoor Summer Sunday School

CALEDONIA - Outdoor Summer Sunday School will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. each Sunday through Aug. 31 at the "Cathedral in the Pines," east of Chambersburg off U.S. 30 across from the Totem Pole Playhouse.

The outreach ministry sponsored by the Franklin County Sunday School Association will include worship and Sunday School program.

The July 6 volunteers are as follows: adult teacher - Steve McLloveen; primary - Dawn Rheam; preschool - Michelle Briddelle; special music - special program.

Benches are provided, however lawn chairs are welcome. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held in the Totem Pole Playhouse. A free-will offering is taken.

Summer worship schedule

Evangelical Lutheran Church, 130 N. Washington St., will have the following summer worship schedule through Aug. 31: Sunday Worship Service with Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month, 9 a.m. Following the service there will be a coffee hour in the Luther Room.

The 5 p.m. informal Saturday evening Holy Communion service will continue to be held at the same time all summer.

There will be no summer Sunday School this year. The fall Sunday School term will begin Sept. 7, 2008.

The public is most welcome to attend these services. The church is handicapped accessible and parking is available beside the building.
