Greencastle American Legion Post 373 was within striking distance all week, but ended up with a pair of losses on the Franklin County circuit.

Over the weekend it was Chambersburg that outdueled Post 373, 5-2. Greencastle took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning, however Post 46 scored runs in each of the next three frames to take the lead and stay there. The win pushed Chambersburg into the top spot of the standings.

Greencastle did its damage on just four basehits, but some walks and an error signaled trouble in the latter innings.

Earlier in the week, Fayetteville used Greencastle to put a three-game slide out of its memory. Pitchers ruled the day as Greencastle's Drew Bittner went the distance and yielded just four hits, but it was Fayetteville that made the most of its chances. Fayetteville scored two in the first and stayed a step ahead to the end.
