Rebels claim 10 and under Suburban title

GREENVILLAGE - The Greencastle-Antrim Rebels 10 and under fastpitch softball team captured the Chambersburg Suburban Championship of the age group last week with a 13-2 win over Hamilton Heights.

The Rebels needed just five innings to end it after recording five runs each in the first two frames. Greencastle pounded the ball with a triple from Rachel Bartlet and six doubles, off the bats of Danielle Ulrich (two), Ally Brown, Jessica Root, Hannah Crist and Elizabeth Ward. Crist and Ulrich were each a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, while Shayla Walck was 2- for-3.

Brown and Ward held off Hamilton Heights from the pitching circle. Brown delivered three innings of one-run, two-hit ball with four strikeouts. Ward came on to hurl two frames of one-run, twohit ball with another four Ks.

Hamilton Heights managed single runs in each of the third and fourth innings, but could get no closer to GA, which added a pair in the fifth to invoke the 10-run rule.
