Dr. William Rudd, left, presents to G. Warren Elliott the Shippensburg University Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented to Elliott, a former Franklin County Commissioner, at the university's recent Alumni Weekend by university President Dr. William Rudd. Elliott, who graduated with honors in 1976 and received his Master's Degree while maintaining a perfect 4.0 average in 1977, was overwhelmed by the recognition. In receiving the award, he thanked the university staff and singled out Dr. Hugh Jones of Chambersburg for playing a significant role in his academic career. He also thanked his wife, Donna, who was with him at the ceremony for helping him to make good decisions for thirty-five years. Elliott was the only individual to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. His efforts with land use planning, farmland preservation and volunteer work with community groups were highlighted during the presentation of the award.
