Two G-A students awarded medical staff scholarships

CHAMBERSBURG - Six area students, who plan to pursue or are pursuing health care careers, were honored as the recipients of the Medical Staff Scholarship Award at a medical staff meeting at Chambersburg Hospital on June 6.

Brittany Kline, of Waynesboro, is a member of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School Class of 2008. She plans to attend St. Francis University and obtain a doctorate of physical therapy.

Chelsie Miller, of Wells Tannery, is a member of the Forbes Road High School Class of 2008. She plans to attend Elizabethtown College where she will pursue a degree in occupational therapy.

Vedran Okilj, of Greencastle, is a member of the Greencastle- Antrim High School Class of 2008. He will be attending Penn State, University Park, where he will major in Pre-med.

Kevin Rist, of Chambersburg, is a member of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School Class of 2008. He plans to attend Shippensburg University where he will pursue a degree in biology with a concentration in pre-dentistry.

Jenelle Rock, of Fayetteville, was a 2007 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. She was accepted into the Practical Nursing Program at FCCTC in February and will begin the program in August 2008.

Jannill Sites, of Greencastle, is a member of the Class of 2008 of Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School. She plans to attend Frostburg State University in the fall where she will be enrolled as a biology major in the pre-med program.

Chambersburg Hospital is a 240-bed acute care, community hospital. Services include bariatric, behavioral health, birthing, cancer, cardiology, critical care, diabetes, diagnostic, emergency, hospitalist, lab, medical, neurophysiology, pain, pediatric, physical medicine, rehabilitation, respiratory and surgical services.
