12th annual Summer Jubilee planned

WAYNESBORO - The 12th Annual Waynesboro Summer Jubilee festival will be held on Friday, July 4 in downtown Waynesboro across from the Waynesboro Hospital. This Fourth of July celebration will begin with the annual Firecracker 5-K Run starting at 8:30 a.m., new this year a shorter version for beginners, followed by the Annual Fourth of July Parade sponsored by the Brothers of the Brush at 10:30 a.m. and a full day of free entertainment.

Craft vendors will have their handiwork on display and available for sale. A wide variety of foods will be available as well as activities for your whole family to enjoy.

The entertainment will begin at noon, with the band Lucky Punk and the Chicken, a mixture of Rock/Powerpop/Pop Punk; at 1:45 the popular Waynesboro Children's Theatre Troupe will perform; followed by Rudy and the Bluefish with some blues; John Shindledecker will host "The Old Time Radio Show" featuring music, comedy and some surprises starting at 5 p.m.; the entertaining and ever popular Pie Eating Contest at 6; the chance to grab some money in the Money Machine at 8 and the band Hicktown will round out the entertainment leading up to the spectacular annual fireworks display beginning at dusk.
