Instrumentalists at high school set concert

The Greencastle-Antrim High School instrumental music department will present a band concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8 in the high school auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.

Opening the program will be the Ninth Grade Band under the direction of Samuel B. Forney. The 31-member band will perform 'Denbrige Way,' 'Where Eagles Soar' and 'Selections from Les Miserables.'

The Jazz-Rock Ensemble will play 'Beantown Blues', 'El Gatotriste' and 'Horsepower.'

The program continues with the Concert Band, also directed by Forney. This 57-member group will offer 'Overture in B Flat', 'The Lion King Soundtrack Highlights' and 'The Quest', which will be conducted by Peter Mowen, drum major.

The Winter Percussion Ensemble will perform their indoor show 'Symphonic Silhouette.' Concluding the program will be the combined band of 88 musicians with 'In the Temple of Zion' and 'Moravian Folk Rhapsody.'
