Lois V. Stine

Lois V. Stine, 74, of 14260 Ridge Road, Waynesboro, died unexpectedly at 12:29 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2008 in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Dec. 1, 1933 in Kauffman Station, she was the daughter of the late Marvin W. Mowen and Hazel (Gelsinger) Mowen Shatzer.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Stine had worked at the former Fresh Express and Baer Packing Co. of Greencastle.

She attended the former Broadway School on Ridge Road.

Mrs. Stine enjoyed embroidery, flowers and being with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

She and her husband, Charles B. Stine Sr. were married April 10, 1952 in Hagerstown, Md.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, she is survived by two daughters, Linda Kint of Mechanicsville, Md. and Barbara Beaver of Greencastle; three sons, Charles B. Stine Jr. of Mercersburg, Jeffrey L. Stine and Steven C. Stine Sr., both of Waynesboro; two sisters, Patricia Wolfe of Chambersburg and Nancy Helman of Upper Strasburg; four brothers, Jack Mowen of Fayetteville, Harry Mowen of Fort Loudon, L. Frank Mowen and Clifford Mowen, both of Greencastle; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Oberholzer and Darlene Gaston; and a brother, George Mowen.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17 in the Harold M. Zimmerman And Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, with Rev. David G. Rawley officiating.

Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Kidney Foundation, C/O the Waynesboro Dialysis Facility, 27 Vista Dr., Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
