Energy regulations and price controls needed

Exxon Mobil recently announced a profit of $40.6 billion, the largest corporate profit in American history. The total for the five biggest oil companies was $123 billion. Why is big oil getting tax breaks as it gouges the American public? The oil industry claims their profits are in line with other industries! American is now controlled by the corporate beast.

We were sold a bill of goods when we were told deregulation would create competition and prices would drop. I think we need regulation and price controls, which is not going to happen with two oil men in the White House, one of which received millions when he left Halliburton. Too bad the blue collar workers who really created the profit recevie so little.

Railroads can get 423 miles per gallon on fuel. We need to transport more freight by rail.

Our government is a big part of the energy crisis. I am told Alaska exports oil to Japan. Why? What is our government doing to create affordable energy solutions? Remember when Vice President Dick Cheney refused to disclose the role of corporate executives and lobbyists in shaping the administration's energy plan. Wonder why?
