Accident fatal to Greencastle man

A Greencastle man died in a single-vehicle accident in Guilford Township Friday evening.

Preston C. Meyers, 84, was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital following the 6:11 p.m. accident in which he was a passenger.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Ethel H. Meyers, 81, was driving a 2005 Buick Lacrosse southbound on U.S. 11. The vehicle left the roadway to the west and struck a tree with the passenger side door at 6159 Molly Pitcher Highway.

Ethel Meyers was taken to the hospital by EMS for moderate injuries.

Both were wearing seatbelts and the airbags deployed, police said. The Buick was towed fom the scene.
