Police Reports Greencastle Borough Police recently released the following incident reports (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 597-9506.): A red and green lawn gnome was stolen from a residence on Williamson Avenue between noon March 21 and noon March 23. A gas grill was stolen from a residence on S. Washington Street between 11 a.m. March 21 and 12:25 p.m. March 22. The grill was chained to a railing and the chain was cut. The Weber grill is navy blue cast iron with a gas tank attached. Julio Jewels Vasquez, 162 N. Carlisle St., Apt. B, was arrested at home at 11:21 a.m. April 1 on charges of simple assault, intimidation of a victim and harassment. His girlfriend Vanessa Vazquez reported that he physically assaulted her in the apartment, allowed her to leave, chased her down the street and then threw her into an alley when she tried to flag down a police officer. Vasquez was taken into custody without incident. Bail was set at $5,000. Awhite female, approximately 18 years old, purchased a prepaid phone card from AC&T Exxon, 705 E. Baltimore St. at 4 p.m. March 27. She wrote a check for the purchase and it was declined after the phone card was already activated. Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg recently issued the following news releases (Information on any of the cases should be called to police at 264-5161.): A license plate and antenna were stolen from a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire belonging to Amy Jane Goodhart, 35, while it was parked at 3582 Harold Place. The theft occurred between 11 p.m. March 28 and 3 p.m. March 30. The tag number was PA GBA-6369. Brandon Richard Clevenger, 22, and Archie Michael Snyder, 57, were victims of criminal mischief at 1685 Farm Lane. Between 11:30 p.m. April 4 and 9 a.m. April 5 someone poured oil on the back window, hatch and rear bumper of Clevenger's 2000 Dodge Durango SLT and oil on Snyder's driveway. Two vehicles were stolen from Keystone Auto Sales/Action Auto Sales, 13640 Molly Pitcher Highway, between March 25 and April 1. A burgundy 1988 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon and a brown 1995 Chevrolet work van were loaded onto a roll back tow truck and taken from the lot. Police report the vehicles were likely sold for scrap. Troopers from the Chambersburg station are continuing to closely monitor traffic on Interstate 81 for aggressive driving and high speeds. They use marked and unmarked cars and airplanes to clock motorists. In February four motorists, two from out of state, were clocked driving from 92 to 104 miles per hour. None were from the Greencastle Antrim area. Major Steven O. McDaniel, Commanding Officer of Area 1 said that the monthly publishing of name of drivers caught traveling in excess of 90 miles per hour is a pilot program. "Hopefully, people will remember that if they are caught speeding on our roadways, that they are likely to see their names in the news." |
