The tax filing deadline is fast approaching. People doing their own taxes may stop in at the Lilian S. Besore Memorial Library for federal and state tax forms, as well as the rent rebate forms.

The book club for children ages nine to 12 meets at 3:30 p.m. April 1. Saturday events include Kindly Canines - Read to Dogs! for grades one through six at 11 a.m. April 12 and an American Girls Club activity for ages eight to 12 at 10 a.m. April 26. Sign up at the library to participate.

The Chess Club meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Monday this month.

Children's author Katherine Ayres is visiting Friday, April 4 at 10 a.m. All youngsters are invited to this special event and will receive a free copy of her book 'Up, Down and Around' which she will sign.

Preschool Storytime meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9 and then the 23 for the last time this spring. The Thursday afternoon Preschool Storytime at 2 p.m. will be April 10 and 24 only this month. Both final sessions include a Teddy Bear picnic. Toddler Time wraps up Fridays, April 11 and 25 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The annual puppet show put on by Friends of the Library during National Library Week will be Thursday, April 17 at 1:15 p.m. Everyone is invited.

Library staff continues to offer programs for all ages. Family book BINGO is for the whole crew at 6 p.m. April 15. And a Care and Share Time for children from birth to three years is at 10 a.m. April 29.
